During this two-day workshop, Brendan will help you unpack your creative genius. He will cover how to get started on your work of fiction, 10 habits of highly effective novelists, creating compelling characters, the art of story and how to smash writer’s block.
On day two, Brendan will look at the business of writing. Can you make a living out of writing novels in Australia? Do you need an agent? Is the publisher your friend? Should you do a university writing course? The perils of showing your work to friends. And is self-publishing really a panacea for rejection?
A follow-up two--day workshop in March will be an opportunity to extend and strengthen your craft. How to maintain momentum? How to fuel your creative fire? How to edit and rewrite? When enough is enough, and when it’s not enough.
As one great writer put it, writing a novel is an adventurous act. Come join this adventure!
